West Indies entered this match as a favorite team but Afghan crew was also giving their best from the previous matches.

They have proved that their batting line is getting stronger and we saw a glimpse in this entire tournament.

West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first against Afghan team. Chris Gayle came on the pitch as an opener but he was unfortunate and made only 7 runs. Dawlat Zadran took his wicket and collected total 2. After him, Evin Lewis and Shai Hope played in partnership and took the team to 78 runs in the 17th over. Evin Lewis scored his half-century and made a total of 58 runs and he was sent back by Rashid Khan.

Shai was also giving his best and scored half-century with 77 runs. Shirzad also got one wicket for his team.

Then Shimron Hetmyer came and gave 39 runs for 31 balls. Nicholas Pooran took the team in the decent direction and gifted a half-century with 58 runs. Jason Holder was also near to score a half-century but was out at 45 for 34 balls. On the final ball, Windies made a score of 311/6 on the board. It was the time for team Afghanistan to prove their abilities and they sent opener Gulbadin in the ground. He was in a hurry so just made 5 runs for his team.

After him, the team took a solid start and Rahmat Shah and Ikram knocked their fifties in the partnership of 100 runs. Rahmat and Ikram made a total of 62 and 86 each and gave a better direction to their crew. Brathwaite was in action and collected 4 wickets in this entire game. Chris Gayle got the wicket of Ikram.

West Indies gave a tough time to the Afghan batsmen and got good catches and offered tight fielding. The team was struggling to make more runs and in the 42nd over, six wickets were down. Nabi took one wicket in this match. Rashid Khan was out at 9 runs by Brathwaite. Dawlat Zadran was out at one run only by Brathwaite.

It does not matter what the results are, both teams tried hard to win this last game but only one has to win. Both nations are already out of the semifinals and now returning back to their homelands. The last victory was destined for the West Indies. Fans of both sides are feeling a bit low because of not getting the chance to play in semifinals.

Tomorrow, Pakistan and Bangladesh are going to play for pride because both of these teams are also out of the semifinals.
